How you can reach the soul of a little stranger? How does he approach apparently is just sitting there waiting? Why wait? How many times I too have sat waiting for something different happen in my life? ... The time of meetings are continuing.

On Saturday May 8, Geraldine and I went to Juarez Park (accompanied Alberto, our photographer and caregiver incognito) to Teatro Encuentro ... his body was tired but willing heart and although two people refused to receive the gift, two more were allowed to share part of their lives and their sense of time through Maze.

The first woman, 45 years approx. accepted knowing that we must break the maze to approach the other, the importance of eye contact to be made aware of the existence of it, that person that when passing in the street do not even look breathing.

Mr. Pedro Jimenez, 90, retired Marine, former boxer, father of many children and that in his youth was great boyfriend stars of the golden age of cinema in Mexico, I shared the loss of one of his children, his intention to travel in search of a new reason to live, to not feel alone ... personally, I makes me happy talk with older people is a great learning experience because at a certain age, people are sharing, open your heart and speak from the front ... we all need someone to listen and accompany us. Don Pedro and I crossed the maze and return hope to have a coffee ...

break almost 6 months of personal and social labyrinths, to laugh and mourn with the small details and major disasters ... time of meetings, time to learn that the other exists because we have looked into the eyes, Theatre Meeting time!

On Thursday April 8th I had the wonderful opportunity to share Theater Meeting with members of the Clarte (Intercultural Performing Arts Company) and other participants of the 8th Estancia Scenic Art organized by Laboratory Xochiojca AC, Veracruz. To perform This activity was the unwavering support of Ixchel Castro Flores starring Maze.

During a span of two hours, Ixchel and I, we present our texts: Maze and Word, respectively. Theater Meeting is minimal and full expression of the theater. Minimal because it is the direct encounter between the actor and his / the spectator @, without much scenery that offers the space chosen for the realization of this gift. Because it offers a full mimutes of absolute surrender of the perpetrator who sees and hears. No time for distraction of the perpetrator or to see who gets to slip in comfortable seat that offers the chair of the campus theater. There in an unconventional place for action, there is a right here and now of the two. A meeting that offers the possibility of unmediated communication, something so difficult today apartir we relate to images and precepts that distort our impression of others and of ourselves in him.

Sincerity, dedication and belief are key elements of our character that we have to practice this form of theater. Very fortunately the counterpart also reveals candid view of the impossibility of hiding behind a round of applause and encouraged to respond sitiéndose with his voice and feeling to close then the cycle of communication: dialogue.

Q: What phrase or part was the one that got your attention?

A: The part that says that not everything can be put into words ...

These are a few answers of all the possibilities offered thoughtful and personal experience. Answers to questions that we are constantly about how we relate to others, questioning if we do not make them consistently, we should at least let us from time to time with the desire to have closer relationships, more intimate, as human, in the shared feeling. Family, friends, new acquaintances, apparently unknown, all share fundamental feelings of human existence such as anxiety, joy, heartbreak, sadness, happiness ...

How to move beyond the maze that prevents me from getting to you?

Theatre offers a path find a you and me face to face, the words are the mediators, powerful words that we rise or sink us. In Teatro Encuentro raise us, fill us with life, enthusiasm and confidence that there are new beginnings, new looks, new opportunities to be and feel more honestly, without pretense of pretending.

Created by Laura, Paola and Moses of Theatre Listen, T.encuentro (as I like to abbreviate it, making a pun) is a tool for communication and social intervention that is based on the theater as a means communication human face and straightforward, allowing us to overcome the barriers of the internet, cell phones, fear of the unknown, and as many labyrinthine walls to reach out to the Other, in the city or in a community up there on the hill, as it was in Xochiojca.

There is much for sharing these experiences through minimal and full excuses not that happy little question: what about me that I can deal with as things in the world?, And in addition offers something no excuse do, feel and think in keeping with the need we all have to face our loneliness.

We will continue T.encuentro, sharing this experience, joining forces with those who get behind the actions and convince themselves immediately in practice. For these people we will be organizing the preparation and implementation. Also in our city, Xalapa, we are taking to the streets in the month of May.
